The ceremony for men was called a capping ceremony, this meant doing the hair up in a bun or coil and wearing a cap. The ceremony for women was called the hair-pinning ceremony, which involved gathering hair into a knot and using a hairpin to hold it in place.

After the ceremony, the receiver would be granted adult attire, precept and good wishes from the honored guest and the host (in most cases, the father of the person to be capped).

The ceremony based on the ritual of the Ming Dynasty. It will be a time machine which could bring you back to ancient time.

The capping ceremony will show the solemnity and magnificent of Chinese ritual. It is also a chance to appreciate the splendid traditional Chinese attire.
